Newington police investigating drive-by shooting on Berlin Turnpike

NEWINGTON -- A drive-by shooting was reported Monday night on the Berlin Turnpike.

Police said the incident involved two vehicles and occurred at the Pane Road intersection, around 7:30 p.m. Officers were called there around that time on the report of a shooting.

According to police, witnesses saw a dark gray SUV and a white SUV heading north on the Berlin Turnpike. At some point as the vehicles proceeded through the Pane Road intersection the operator of the dark SUV began shooting at the white SUV, witnesses said.

Police said the driver of the dark SUV left the area, heading west on Pane Road, while the operator of the white SUV headed south on the Berlin Turnpike. Neither driver has been identified, according to police.

Officers located shell casings in the area of where the shooting was reported, confirming it occurred at this location.
