NEWINGTON - Everyone knows they should have auto, home, health and life insurance, but wedding, pet and cyber liability are lesser known protections.

Connecticut Insurance Exchange offers all of these types of policies and more with over 29 top-rated providers. Pet insurance helps pet owners pay for unexpected veterinary bills and wedding insurance also covers the unexpected.

“Connecticut Insurance Exchange wedding insurance provides coverage, with no deductible, for a variety of unfortunate occurrences associated with a wedding event,” CIE Marketing Vice President Melanie Tregoning explained. “For example, coverage is provided if a hurricane or major storm causes the necessary and unavoidable cancellation or postponement of the event. We also provide coverage for other special events such as anniversary parties, Bar Mitzvahs, reunions, and more.”

Business professionals and individuals can also benefit from cyber liability and identity theft policies.

While CIE agents have a longstanding reputation for providing excellent service, the company is perhaps best known for its strong support of the community.

After completing a highly successful holiday fundraiser for the Independence Fund and wounded veterans, CIE recently focused its charitable outreach on the Newington Police Department.

“Opioid addiction is an epidemic throughout New England and Newington is also impacted,” Tregoning pointed out.

CIE has donated towards the department’s purchase of Narcan, used to revive users who overdose. The company is also a major sponsor of NPD’s newest initiative. The RAD program, launching later this year, will provide support to females in defending themselves against rape and other types of aggression.

“Ron met with Chief Clark to identify areas of concern that affect the youth in our community,” Tregoning added of her husband, Ron, who owns the company. “The chief put Ron in touch with Community Officer Jamie DeSimone, who explained the details of these projects. It was a natural fit for Connecticut Insurance Exchange to help.”

CIE has donated over $100,000 to different causes since it was founded over 40 years ago.
