YORK, Pa. - The New Britain Bees were routed, 19-1, by the York Revolution on the road Sunday afternoon.
The Bees dropped to 41-44 for the season, as starter Cory Riordan (4-5) gave up six home runs and allowed 19 runs (15 earned) on 18 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Melky Mesa roped three home runs, falling a grand slam short of the home-run cycle.
The Revolution (45-40) racked up 20 total hits, exploding out of the gate for a 7-0 first-inning lead, and eight more runs in the fifth inning gave them a 19-0 lead.
Bijan Rademacher’s solo home run was the lone bright spot for the Bees.
