Long Island Ducks

Last Season: 73-67

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Travis Snider: The outfielder has played for the Blue Jays, Orioles and Pirates. He has 630 career games in the big leagues, hitting 54 home runs with 212 RBI.

Jordany Valdespin: The infielder spent four years in the majors, two with the Mets and two with the Marlins. In 2012 with the Mets he had 18 extra base hits in 94 games. It will be his first season in the Atlantic League.

Jair Jurrjens: The right-hander played eight seasons in the majors, most notably with the Braves. His best year was in 2011 when he made the NL All-Star team and finished 13-6 with a 2.96 ERA.

Somerset Patriots

Last Season: 74-65

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Endy Chavez: He played in 13 major league seasons, with the Royals, Expos, Nationals, Phillies, Mets, Mariners, Rangers and Orioles. He had two seasons hitting over .300 and also hit .345 with the Bluefish in 2016.

Julio Borbon: The outfielder has five years at the major league level. He last played in the big leagues with the Orioles in 2016, appearing in six games and hitting .308.

Aaron Laffey: The southpaw returns for his second season with Somerset. He pitched for the Indians, Mariners, Yankees, Blue Jays, Mets and Rockies, winning 26 games.

Lancaster Barnstormers

Last Season: 76-64

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Jonathan Albaladejo: The big right hander was signed by the Mets organization last July after starting the year with the Bluefish. He played in five major league seasons, including three with the Yankees with his best season coming in 2009.

Darian Sandford: The switch hitter returns for his second season in Lancaster. He had a .324 average last year and also stole 45 bases in just 60 games.

Vladimir Frias: He was signed out of the Atlantic League last July by the Diamondbacks, reaching Triple-A for the first time in his career. He was drafted in 2008 by the Giants.

York Revolution

Last Season: 68-72

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Alexi Casilla: He played seven seasons with the Twins and two more with the Orioles, the last coming in 2014. He hit .358 in 62 games last year for the Revolution.

Jose Tabata: The Venezuela native had a .275 career average in six seasons with the Pirates, playing over 100 games three different times. In 2008 he finished eighth in the Rookie of the Year award voting.

Ross Detwiler: The southpaw enters his first season in the Atlantic League after a nine-year MLB career and spending 2017 in the minors. Detwiler won 10 games with Washington in 2012.

South Maryland Blue Crabs

Last Season: 67-73

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Drake Britton: The lefty pitched in 18 games for the 2013 Red Sox, which went on to win the World Series. He went 4-1 with a 3.68 ERA for the Bluefish last season.

Xavier Paul: The outfielder spent six seasons in the big leagues, with the Dodgers, Pirates, Reds and Diamondbacks. He hit .314 in 55 games for the Reds in 2012 and played 112 games the year before with the Pirates.

Cody Eppley: The right hander has MLB experience with the Rangers and Yankees. He appeared in 59 games for the Yankees in 2012, finishing with a 3.33 ERA in 46 innings.

Sugar Land Skeeters

Last Season: 67-73

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Derek Norris: The catcher was an All-Star in 2014 with the A’s, finishing with 10 homers, 55 RBI and a .270 average. The following year with the Padres he had 33 doubles, 14 home runs and 62 RBI. He played 55 games with the Rays last season.

Felipe Paulino: He started 20 games with the Royals in 2011, going 4-6 with a 4.11 ERA. He has 13 career wins in parts of six MLB seasons with the Astros, Rockies, Royals and White Sox.

Alejandro Chacin: Made his MLB debut last season with the Reds, posting a 10.50 ERA in six games. He has a 2.46 ERA in eight minor league seasons.

Road Warriors

Last Season: DNP

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Danny Richar: The infielder played in three major league seasons, one with the White Sox and two with the Reds. On July 31, 2008, the White Sox traded Richar and pitcher Nick Masset to the Reds for outfielder Ken Griffey Jr.

Giovanni Soto: He made six appearances with the Indians in 2015, not allowing a run in 3.1 innings. He pitched a no-hitter for the Akron Aeros against the Altoona Curve in 2012.

A.J. Jiménez: He played in seven games with the Indians last season, going 1-for-12. He was a ninth-round draft pick of the Blue Jays in 2008.
