NEW BRITAIN - The New Britain Bees are getting a key arm back in their bullpen.

Left-hander Shawn Gilblair has been taken off the inactive list and added to the active roster the team announced Monday afternoon.

Gilblair appeared in 46 games for the Bees last season and was the team's closer. He finished 2016 4-2 with a 1.87 ERA and 21 saves and was selected to the Atlantic League's all-star game.

Gilblair currently serves as the team's pitching coach.

To make room on the roster, New Britain placed right-hander Chris Hayes on the inactive list. Hayes went 0-2 with an 8.00 ERA in seven appearances this season.
